Change is good, isn’t it?

We love a change in seasons here in the Sea-to-Sky; it brings with it a chance to shake things up and provides a different twist on some of our favourite activities. Just like the trees, we see different colours and textures in our everyday life – and the opportunity to perhaps try something new.

Here’s our Fall list of 8 Things to Do in the Sea-to-Sky:

Farmer’s Market

Nothing beats a fresh fall day at the Squamish Farmers’ Market, and we love shopping for all the Autumn goodies like apples, squash, pumpkin and root vegetables. Grab all the ingredients for a hearty soup or inspired dessert pie (yum!) and check out artist tables for local goods, art, décor and more. The Whistler Farmers’ Market is also a fantastic option!

Take a Hike

Right now, the Sea-to-Sky Gondola challenges you to shake off the slow mornings and kick start your day with a glorious hike to the summit. Rise and Climb is a hiking challenge that invites you to walk up the Sea to Summit trail each Saturday and Sunday through October 30th. Arrive at the Summit by 12PM and participants receive a complimentary coffee along with a chance to win some fun prizes. The more you hike, the better your odds are for winning!

Relax

Up in Whistler, you’ll find the perfect fall refuge at the Spa at Nita Lake Lodge. Treat yourself to a massage, facial or spa treatment and savour your peaceful surroundings as you take in the quiet lake views from the hotel or restaurant. The Nita Lake Lodge has been voted one of Canada’s best boutique luxury hotels and their award-winning spa is a special retreat-within-a-retreat.

Try New Cuisines

Saha Eatery in Squamish cooks up some of the tastiest, most flavourful dishes in town, and their Lebanese-inspired cuisine is packed with all kinds of tummy-warming spices that are perfect to cozy up to on a cool fall day. If you’re looking for something smokier, head to Peckinpah BBQ for some delicious Carolina-style BBQ.

Get Started on Your Holiday Shopping

Too soon? Maybe for some, but let’s put the wonderful Bespoke Market on your radar anyway. Taking place in November, this artisan market is the perfect retail outing to start ticking things off your list, and you’ll adore the unique, stylish, and carefully curated selection of art, home goods, fashion, and jewelry. In fact, you’ll likely walk out with a few things for yourself!

Secret Yourself Away

Tucked away in the Squamish Valley is AIKA Spa, an incredible, personalized spa experience that factors in the methods of hot and cold therapy along with relaxation and whatever else you need to unwind. A visit to the lush grounds of AIKA Spa is a moment of pure serenity that your body and mind will say thank you for.

Immerse Yourself in Art

At Audain Art Museum in Whistler you’ll find one of the most celebrated collections of Canadian art, as well as seasonal exhibits to intrigue you. Until January 8th you can view ‘Out Of Control: The Concrete Art if Skateboarding’, an exploratory exhibition that studies the intersection between contemporary art and skateboarding. If you’re looking for a more interactive experience, purchase tickets to Whistler Wine Walk that takes place every Friday throughout October.

Treat Yourself – Pumpkin Style

No, we’re not only talking about the beloved pumpkin spice latte (but if that’s your thing, check out Lucas Teas to make your own or treat yourself to one at Caffe Garibaldi). Sip some pumpkin-inspired beer at Howe Sound Brewing, Back Country Brewing or A-Frame Brewing, or grab a tasty treat at Sunflower Bakery and Cloudburst Cafe. They won’t disappoint!
