The August long weekend is always a fun one as the Squamish Days Loggers Sports Festival provides 4 days of exciting events and competitions. Here are some highlights from 2024.

 

Kettle Boil Challenge 

Teams  of two raced to build a fire and see who can get their can of water to boil over in the fastest time.

Lumberjack Chili Cook Off

Select local restaurants came together serving delicious chili samples to the crowd at the Kettle Boil. Backcountry Brewing took out the 2024 championship title.

The Bed Races 

The wacky Bed Races always draw a huge crowd to Cleveland Ave in downtown Squamish. Teams of 5; 4 pushers and a rider, navigate the 2-block course filled with obstacles and challenges. Plus there are the best costumes!  “The Olympic Hopefuls” are the 2024 Bed Race Champions.

Squamish Days Festival Parade

Always a family favourite, the Squamish Days Festival Parade brings the community together. Cleveland Avenue in downtown Squamish was lined with parade fans of all ages, there to see the trucks and parade floats go by.

Loggers Sports Shows

Saturday’s Loggers Sports Show was packed as the Novice and Intermediate competitors tested their skills to move up the ranks.

Sunday’s World Class Open Loggers Sports Show sold out for the 3rd year in a row and the crowd cheered on athletes from around the world. Even the Junior Loggers Sports athletes put on a show.

The Squamish Days Loggers Sports Festival will be back to celebrate their 68th annual event over the BC Day Long Weekend from July 31st – August 3rd, 2025.
